“Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’” Mark 13:35-37
Have you ever stayed up late waiting for a child to come home? I know I did. I also know that if I waited up because I loved them, then my heart and motives were clear. If I stayed up because I was mad at them for disobedience, then my motives were wrong. Jesus tells us to be sleeping, but to watch for His return. I have to ask myself why am I waiting for Him? Is it because I love Him or because I want something from Him, salvation? Am I operating out of love or some other motive?
This journey is about moving closer to God and loving Him more fully. So, join me in reading Mark 13 and be encouraged!
