Mark is a gospel written to the Gentiles. As a result, Mark doesn't spend a lot of time going over ancient prophecies about the Messiah. Instead, Mark focuses on Jesus's miracles because they will prove Jesus's power and authority.
In this first chapter, Mark tells us how Jesus drove out impure spirits, heals great crowds, and also heals the single individual along His path. Jesus loves all of us, not just a certain people, crowds or those with certain needs. Each is precious to Him, which is demonstrated in this first chapter.
