The bulk of Matthew 20 is the story of a landowner hiring workers for his field. Some worked long and others just a short time, yet they all received the same pay. When grumbling was heard amongst the workers that worked the most, the landowner asked, was it wrong for him to be generous?
The good news for us is that it doesn't matter if our sins are great or small, they're forgiven when we ask for His grace and make Him our Lord and Saviour. It doesn't matter if we've been a Christian our whole life or the moment before we die, His grace makes us clean.
