Spurgeon writes about a person needing to drop out of a burning building needing to be caught so they don't die being similar to a sinner needing to drop into the arms of Christ so they too won't die. He writes, "The Savior cries, "Drop! drop into my arms!" It is not doing, it is leaving off doing. It is not working, it is trusting in that work which Jesus has already done. Trust! that is the word, simple, solid, hearty, earnest trust. Trust and it will not take an hour to save you, the moment you trust you are saved. You may have come in here as black as hell, but if you trust in Jesus you are wholly forgiven. In an instant, swifter than a flash of lightning the deed of grace is done. O may God the Spirit do it now, bringing you to trust, that you may be saved."
In chapter 21, Jesus enters Jerusalem on a donkey to fulfill scripture, heals the sick in the temple and lets non-jews know, His salvation is for us too. So join me in reading and be encouraged!
