In chapter 24 of Proverbs, we continue to get applicable instructions that stand the test of time. Below are a few that struck me today:
Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice Proverbs 24:17
So often we take pleasure in watching those we don't like fail, I know I do, but the Lord warns us not to. I need to remember that I'm to love my enemies too.
An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. Proverbs 24:26
Even if the truth is hard, it's better than a dishonest response. This can be so hard at times especially if we're afraid of the possible consequences. It's tempting to color the response so it may not be a lie, but it's not honest either.
I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense Proverbs 24:30
I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw Proverbs 24:32

We can always learn, even from a sluggard who is foolish or has no sense. I need to look at every situation as a chance to learn, even if it's what not to do!
