People often say that all one needs to make the right choice is enough information. Yet, we still have people smoking, going places they know aren't safe and doing activities that risk their lives. They have all the information to know not to do those things, yet they make choices that are bad for them. Just because we have all of the information doesn't mean we'll make the right decision, even if it's obvious.
Ken Hughes puts it this way, "we have histories. We are no longer blank slates. We have scribbles and erasures and misspellings and doodlings written messily all over us. In fact, we were born complicated. We were born with a bias toward folly. We were born guilty. Theologians call it Original Sin, and it is real."
Thankfully, God has provided a solution, so join me in reading Proverbs 9 and be encouraged!
