The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid? Psalms 27:1

Charles Spurgeon writes, "If all your light comes from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, you need not be afraid of losing your light! "The Lord is my light and my salvation." If your salvation comes from the God of Salvation, if it is worked out by the Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, you need not be afraid that you will ever be robbed of that salvation — and you may confidently sing, "Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?"

Historically, I've read these types of scriptures where David or someone else is so confident and devoted and I thought to myself, "That's so not me. I'm such a failure!" Today, after reading daily and praying daily, I have been able to move closer to God and my faith isn't as weak as it once was. That doesn't mean I'm a David or Paul, it just means that even I can grow closer to God as I get to know Him more.

Join me in reading Psalm 27 and be encouraged!
