Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; Psalms 37:1

Have you ever known or known of people that are cheating and living a terrible life, yet they seem to have it all? I knew a guy who cheated in business, did drugs, lied to his new bride yet had lots of money and lived an extravagant life. At the same time, I had friends struggling in so many ways. They were unemployed, had bills they couldn't pay and couldn't afford any extras for their kids, while they were faithful followers of God. Sometimes, I was one of those I'm describing.  Often, I'd ask God why those obviously living for themselves were rewarded and those living for Him weren't. As I look back, I realize Psalm 37 is as relevant today as it was when David wrote it!

Psalm 37 can be called a wisdom psalm because it reflects on themes normally dealt with in the Bible’s Wisdom Literature, particularly in Proverbs. It addresses the issue of why godless people often prosper. It shows that it really is better to stay loyal to the Lord—a loyalty expressed in contentment, honesty, and generosity. In his own good time, the Lord will make a clear distinction between the godless and the faithful. Meanwhile, the faithful must wait patiently. Psalms 37:1
