He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock Psalms 40:2
There are times when despite your best efforts, you just can't make sense of a verse or chapter. At the same time, this confusion can also be applied to many parts of one's life. That is exactly what happened yesterday with Psalm 40. I couldn't wrap my mind or heart around it at all. Despite reading many thoughts on it, none hit home. None said, "This is what this means to you." As a result, I just left it alone for a while and this morning, it hits home to my heart.
What I finally understood is that God is picking me out of my anger, hurt, stress, loss, or in other words, my sin, and placing me on the rock. He's cleaning me off, placing me on a solid path and asks only that I follow Him! Thank you!!!
