God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea Psalms 46:1-2
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the shields with fire. He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; Psalms 46:9-10
This Psalm is often called "Martin Luther’s Psalm." Whenever there was any great trouble, Luther used to say, "Let us sing the 46th Psalm together and then let the devil do his worst." With all that is happening today, it can feel like the world is spinning out of control and that risks are around every corner. Thankfully, God is in charge and He's our refuge! Psalm 46 is timely and lets us know where we can turn!
