God’s people sing this psalm for encouragement as they are oppressed by powerful, wealthy people. In such a situation, it would be easy to despair, or else to seek security in power and wealth rather than in God. Psalms 62:1
I know over the years I have struggled with not being the solution, but instead have focused on solving my issues on my own. Psalm 62 shows us how David turns to God and focuses on Him and not his own strength and solutions.
