I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. Psalms 63:8

When you're feeling like a failure and don't think you can do anything correct, remember, God loves us AND seeks us! He knows our flaws and failures. He knows our thoughts and desires. He knows what we've done and what we will do and yet, the desire to get close to Him, to learn about Him and grow in Him exist because He first wanted us and sought us out! God wants us to be close to Him, to learn about Him and to grow in Him because He loves us! As a result, before we ever thought to seek Him, He sought us and started to draw us to Him.

AW Tozer puts our pursuit of God this way, "before a man can seek God, God must first have sought the man.
"Before a sinful man can think a right thought of God, there must have been a work of enlightenment done within him. We pursue God because, and only because, He has first put an urge within us that spurs us to the pursuit. “No one can come to me,” said our Lord, “unless the Father who sent me draws them” (John 6:44)

All the time we are pursuing Him we are already in His hand: “Your right hand upholds me.”
