It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. Romans 9:16
Spurgeon writes,"I believe that the two great doctrines of human responsibility and divine sovereignty have both been brought out the more prominently in the Christian Church by the fact that there is a class of strong-minded hard-headed men who magnify sovereignty at the expense of responsibility; and another earnest and useful class who uphold and maintain human responsibility oftentimes at the expense of divine sovereignty."
Romans 9 has caused many to have very different views and there has even been conflict due, not to it, but because people are unwilling to see another view. As a result, let's read Romans 9 and be encouraged that God loves us and is showing us His mercy and grace!
