At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. Titus 3:3-5

Charles Spurgeon says, "If you have judged yourselves with candor, you will not judge others with severity." This is such a wonderful reminder for me! With all that is going on in our society, it's so easy for me to think and/or express harsh criticism of others. Paul, however, reminds me that that would be me I'm thinking so poorly of if not for God's mercy and grace! I have to ask myself, Have I exchanged one type of criticism and judgement for another? Am I judging the unsaved like I would have judged others when I was unsaved?

Join me in reading Titus 3 and be encouraged!
