Christmas came early in the form of a Colorado state Supreme Court decision keeping Donald Trump off the state's 2024 ballot for violating the 14th Amendment. This decision has been stayed until January 4 pending an expected appeal to the US Supreme Court. In the meantime, SCOTUS dealt Trump a win by denying Jack Smith's request hopscotch over the DC Court of Appeals on his claim of presidential immunity for the actions he took to overthrow the 2020 election.
