Description

How does our physical or bodily experience, movement, and awareness influence leadership effectiveness? Tune in to this episode of TINITALK featuring special guest Chris Balsley, Somatic Trainer, and senior faculty member of our Newfield Program.

In this episode, alongside our host Tini Fadzillah, Chris introduces Somatic work as a pivotal aspect of the ontological exploration practiced at The Coach Partnership. He delves into the profound impact of Somatics, highlighting its transformative quality: moving beyond verbal communication to embody the desired leadership impact. Additionally, he sheds light on the neuroscience supporting Somatic work. Tini and Chris encourage listeners to explore practices that raise awareness of their somatic impact on others. As you listen to this episode, what are you becoming aware of regarding your somatic patterns and their impact? If you can identify the shifts you aspire to make within yourself, what would they be?

Chris has dedicated a significant portion of his career to supporting individuals and teams to enhance their performance and intentionally shift their moods. He achieves this by teaching stress mitigation techniques in the workplace, improving communication skills, and emphasizing the connection between leadership and the human body. When not coaching others, Chris works with leaders across various organizational levels, from C-suite executives to mid-level managers in multinational corporations, Fortune 100 companies, and the military. Additionally, Chris served as a senior presenter and executive coach for Magis Group LLC from 2009 to 2011, providing training for military units deploying to and returning from Afghanistan and Iraq, with over 10,000 soldiers trained. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and the author of 'Stop Controlling, Start Leading: 27 Secrets for Effective Leadership at Work, Home, and Play'.
