Michelle Li’s life changed on January 1st, 2022 when a woman called KSDK to complain about Michelle’s segment saying what Americans eat for New Years. After reading the segment, Li adlibbed, “I ate dumpling soup. That’s what a lot of Korean people do." The woman called Michelle #VeryAsian, annoying and she can “keep her Korean to herself”.
Since then, Michelle has created The Very Asian Foundation and is inspiring people all over the globe to be proud of who they are. In this episode, we talk with Michelle on her family, career and what happened on January 1st.
