My guest this week is really making a difference at such an early time in her career.
Dr Haleema Alamri is from Saudi Arabia. She completed her Master’s degree in Canada, then her PhD at the prestigious science university in Saudi, the King Abdulla University of Science and Technology – or KAUST. KAUST is where some of the brightest science students from around the world complete their PhD studies.
Dr Haleema was then offered an opportunity to do post-doctoral studies at Harvard.
While at KAUST, she had already established her interest in leadership. She did a Leadership Challenge workshop and then followed that up with other leadership learning opportunities during her time at Harvard.
Saudi now is undergoing some huge changes which bring opportunities for women in the Kingdom and Dr Haleema is very much a part of that.
So – a highly respected scientist, a committed leader and a woman – in Saudi. This is very impressive.
