Matthew (he/him) and Jo (she/they) would not like to be on the Defiant during “Starship Down” as we discuss this classic Star Trek submarine episode in the vein of “Balance of Terror” and “Wrath of Khan.” We celebrate the amazing narrative setting of the chaos of a damaged submarine/spaceship, we appreciate the humor of Quark and James Cromwell and we have some very strong thoughts on how concussions are portrayed in film. Matthew rants about Worf being a good manager even when the show depicts him as otherwise and Jo asks “How can you not be romantic about baseball?”
