Matthew (he/him) and Jo (they/them) try their hand at “Playing God” as they debate if the Trill initiate should have been approved by Dax, they long for more moral discussions of the validity of life and they appreciate that ridding the station of Cardassian voles is not beneath the responsibilities of the first officer. They also spend a little extra time discussing storytelling successes and misses in episodic and serialized storytelling. Matthew asks why Odo is stationed to the Defiant and who is running the station when everyone is gone and Jo questions Janeway’s favoritism regarding crew promotions.
