Meet Dave Fowell
Dave started painting in 1993. He had a free-range poultry farm and then had the chance to create a cafe/restaurant in the Coromandel, the artistic and eccentric place, the Eggsentric.
His vision was that the cafe would not only do food but also be a place where people would feel comfortable and have a cultural experience. Beautiful beach and cliffs, then coming into a large garden with organic flowers and vegetables and 40 odd sculptures before entering the restaurant where there is original art on the walls, exciting music (a lot live!) and great food.
Dave is an actor and musician, has an eco t-shirt business and is passionate about sculpturing.
He started with stone but now also does wood, constructed wood and perspex and temporary sculptures in the environment. He is always off on tangents with new materials or ideas, so there are a few unfinished works around waiting for the final subconscious push!
