Meet Grahame Christian
Grahame established Smart Environmental (Smart) in 1993 and grew it to a national company with over 500 staff. Smart is a waste and recycling company. Smart has provided services to over 30 New Zealand local bodies, and through growth and acquisition, Smart now employs close to 800 staff.
Grahame was a member of NZ Police for 11 years and received the Commissioners medal for bravery. He was appointed to the Red Squad in 1981. This squad toured NZ with the very controversial Springbok rugby team, provided escort duties, and was very heavily involved in the nationwide protest action by New Zealanders.
Grahame is highly involved with business all around the country and mentors young business students.
