Patrick Salmon is of Ngati Awa, Ngai Tūhoe, Te Arawa and Ngati Tukorehe descent.

He holds a great passion and dedication for Māori development & advancement in the sectors of health & education.

Patrick is the founder and Managing Director of KAIRUA NZ and has a strong track record of innovating and developing with the Ministry of Health and many national and local service providers across New Zealand.

He holds a Masters degree with honours in Applied Indigenous Knowledge and is currently completing a PHD in Māori Advancement & Development.

Patrick was part of the most dynamic duo ever to appear on the multimedia award winning show, My Kitchen Rules NZ and has driven the popular breakfast radio show in Waikato as a host for Tainui Live.

Patrick is the first in the 116 year history of Well Child services to be appointed as the National Indigenous Innovator for Whānau Āwhina Plunket and also a pro-active committee member of Power To Protect with Starship Children’s Hospital.

Despite all that he does, Patrick is present and supportive husband to his wife 14 years and they have 6 tamariki together.

Patrick has a passion and commitment to do “cool shit that matters” and encourages, inspires and uplifts others to unleash their own potential and find their place of service in the world.
