Raised in a tin-roof house deep in the woods of southern Virginia, Sophia Hornyak is a lifelong seer and comes from a family of root-workers who immersed her in the traditions of their ancestors. She has practiced alongside a diverse group of magical practitioners out of Harry's Occult in Philadelphia, and is an Akashic teacher, having studied under Akashic leaders such as Linda Howe and Helen Vonderheide.
As an explorer of the abyss, her core purpose is in facing fears and researching what it means to do so across various philosophies. Her personal practice is a blend of Bhakti yoga and The Western Mysteries Traditions including Qabalah, Angelics, and Gematria.
As a storyweaver, Sophia’s writing is down to earth, supportive, straight-forward and humorous. As a conduit, she distills the esoteric down to being understandable if not relatable. She writes on nostalgia, adversity, the occult, spirituality, and how it all weaves into our lives.
