The Hurst Show has been running for over 40 years, bringing the local community together and attracting visitors from surrounding areas for a two-day family-friendly celebration of arts & crafts, traditional country skills, and activities such as a dog show, plant stall, classic car show and hobby-horse racing (yes, really!)We are joined by Vikki Randles from the Hurst Show organising committee, who talks enthusiastically about the return to a live event this year following a scaled back version in 2020 (government guidelines permitting). Last year during the coronavirus pandemic the community really pulled together and several aspects of the Hurst Show did go ahead, partly online. This year's show will be held over the weekend of Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June 2021 and much of the familiar activities will be back. To increase safety visitors will not congregate in one place but will move between activities held in several community spaces around the village. Hurst Show is a non-commercial event run by volunteers, which over the years has raised tens of thousands of pounds for local good causes.
