As a pastor or church leader, you may find yourself wondering how to grow your church. There are plenty of opinions out there, but in this episode, Pastor Rick Vannoy shares his thoughts on the matter. He believes that a growing church is the product of growing believers who are living their lives worthy of the call that God has placed upon them. So, what does it take to become a growing believer?

Drawing from Ephesians 4:18-16, Pastor Rick identifies three keys to spiritual growth that can help grow a church. He emphasizes that every person in the church has a unique gift that is important to the body, not just the leaders. To follow Jesus Christ's methodology, as mentioned in Ephesians chapter 4, we need to use our gifts and follow instructions. Equipping, which means "to smash" in Greek, is necessary for using our gifts and refers to the process of being prepared, trained, and strengthened.

To illustrate the importance of preparation, Pastor Rick shares a personal anecdote of climbing Longs Peak. He explains how the difference in being prepared made all the difference in accomplishing the task successfully. The same applies to using our gifts in the church. We need to be equipped and prepared to use our unique gifts to serve the body of Christ and help the church grow.

Finally, Pastor Rick addresses the issue of Christians not using their spiritual gifts in the church. He encourages listeners to recognize and utilize their gifts for the growth of the body of Christ. He identifies three categories of people: those who are unaware of their gifts, those who know their gifts but don't know how to use them, and those who know their gifts but are not actively using them. He offers to help those who need guidance in discerning their gifts and reminds listeners that Christians who are equipped but idle hinder the growth of the church.
