Life can change in the blink of an eye and did for Chief when his brother was murdered. He faced depression and hopelessness, and recovered through personal connection, faith, and writing his pain down in poetry.
It has led him to the pinnacle of encouragement and achievement. Chief is the playwright of and actor in his one-man show, I Wish Life Had Training Wheels. He was appointed as the first ever Poet Laureate of his hometown, New Britain Connecticut, a town where he was born and raised and where he continues to live and serve as Dean of Students at his alma mater, New Britain High School, and coach of the football and basketball teams. Chief also was featured at the Kallio Block Party in Helsinki, Finland and performed at the 2012 London Olympics.
