Close-knit and well-meaning, our families living in the US did their best to uphold Puerto Rican values, traditions, and customs. Sometimes those clashed with what the younger, US-born generation wanted.
With lightheartedness and maybe a chip or two on our shoulder (lol!), we go down memory lane.
Muy unidas y bien intencionadas, nuestras familias que viven en los Estados Unidos hicieron todo lo posible para defender los valores, tradiciones y costumbres puertorriqueñas. A veces chocaban con lo que la generación más joven, nacida en los Estados Unidos, quería.
Con alegria, y tal vez un chip o dos en nuestro hombro (¡jajaja!), vamos por el carril de la memoria.
