We’re excited to start something new! Every few episodes we’ll highlight a few “firsts” in Puerto Rican history. This week we bring you:
-Dr. José Celso Barbosa Alcala, the first Puerto Rican to earn a medical degree in the United States;
-Hiram Bithorn, the first Boricua to play Major League Baseball; and
-Bomba Marilé, the first Puerto Rican Bomba group in Utah!
We laughed and cried, we felt such pride!
