Description

The Trung sisters led the first resistance movement in Vietnam against the Chinese.  Way back in 40 AD, these two sisters led a rebellion of Vietnamese women & men against the oppressive Han Dynasty.

In the process, they captured 65 cities & co-ruled their rebel territory, restoring a simpler governmental structure & eliminating Chinese-imposed taxes.

They reigned for a few years before their defeat by Chinese forces.  Today, they are honored with a yearly festival & as icons of bravery, independence, & resistance.

We can't think of a better way to celebrate Sisters Day 2022.
