Welcome to The Weekly Top 3 - our look at the top 3 things on our mind this week - for the week of February 3, 2019.This week, before working through our Top 3, we outline presentations we made Tuesday of this week before the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly (2:17). For those interested, the slide deck we use in those presentations is available on our Facebook and Twitter feeds. Then we move on to our Top 3: 1) the impact of the upcoming supplemental budget on overall FY20 spending levels - it mostly wipes out the progress made in last session's budget cuts (7:07); 2) the claims by some that the Governor isn't providing "leadership" this session on fiscal issues - we disagree … some(18:17); and 3) we discuss a report last week from the DC-based Tax Foundation attempting, similarly to last year's report from the Ohio-based Buckeye Institute, to justify a statewide sales tax over an income tax as a means of raising new revenue (28:21).
The Weekly Top 3 is a regular weekly segment on The Michael Dukes Show. The Show broadcasts on Facebook and YouTubeLive as well as via streaming audio from the Show’s website weekdays from 6–8am. We join Michael weekly in the first hour of Tuesday’s show, from 6:25–7am, for a discussion between the two of us about our three issues.
