Mortgage interest rates in the 6% range are normal! During the past five decades mortgage interest rates have gone from a low of about 3% to a high of about 17%. The typical range is between 6-8%.
Depending upon your generation, you may think rates are very high, high, normal or low. Don't let your past experience dictate if you will or will not buy a house now.
