Description

Have you ever known anyone who changed dramatically? How did it happen? Saul, one of the teachers whom God used to transform the new believers in Antioch had himself been transformed by grace. Luke recounts the story of Saul’s conversion three times in the book of Acts. This must be important. Saul’s questions of Jesus as he was blinded on the road to Damascus call for our attention today: “Who are you Lord? What do you want me to do?” As we grow in grace we find our identity in Christ. He is changing us. Message based on Acts 9:1-20.

Quotes:
J I Packer: Nowhere is God so near to man as in Jesus Christ; and nowhere is Christ so familiarly represented to us as in this holy sacrament, the Lord’s Supper.

David Brooks: People want to turn suffering into holiness – they help others, or they transform their lives.  People don’t heal from suffering.  They come out changed.

John Newton tombstone: John Newton, clerk, once an infidel and libertine, a servant of slaves in Africa, was by the rich mercy of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, preserved, restored, pardoned, and appointed to preach the faith he had long labored to destroy.
