Description

Message on John 6:35. What do we most want from Jesus? Hungry people hoped Jesus would renew the manna program of Moses. Jesus fed them and asked them to believe in him as the Bread of Life. He is more than just provider of our physical needs. Jesus is life itself! Is he enough for us?

Quotes:

Prayer of Humble Access:
We do not presume to come to this your table, O merciful Lord,
trusting in our own righteousness,
but in your abundant and great mercies.
We are not worthy so much as to gather up
the crumbs under your table;
but you are the same Lord
whose character is always to have mercy.
Grant us, therefore, gracious Lord,
so to eat the flesh of your dear Son Jesus Christ,
and to drink his blood,
that our sinful bodies may be made clean by his body,
and our souls washed through his most precious blood,
and that we may evermore dwell in him, and he in us. Amen.

C. S. Lewis ~ You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.

John Piper ~ The cost of food in the kingdom is hunger for the bread of heaven, instead of the white bread of the world. Do you want it? Are you hungry? Or are you satisfied with yourself and your television and your computer and your job and your family?

Benediction:  Wherever you go, God is sending you.
Wherever you are, God has put you there.
God has a purpose in your being right where you are.
Christ, who indwells you by the power of his Spirit,
wants to do something in and through you.
Believe this and go in his grace, his love, his power.
In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Amen.
