Isaiah 9:6-7, 46:9-10
Someone said, “If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” How about our plans? Do we have the ability to make them happen? Isaiah knew the people of God needed to know God’s plan for their lives. He prophesied and predicted the birth of a baby who would be a “Planner of Wonders,” or Wonderful Counselor. It is one thing to plan wonderful things, but another to bring them about. With his second title for the Messiah, Isaiah leaves no doubt that the child would be none other than the Mighty God. He finishes what he starts. What has he started in us?
