In the eighth chapter of Paul’s letter to the Romans, he concentrated on the work of the Spirit. We have studied the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of unity who brings us together, as the Spirit who gives life, and the Spirit of adoption who testifies we are God's Children. Today we remember that we have the first fruits of the spirit who gives us hope of our ultimate liberty as children of God. The Spirit's promised redemption of the children of God offers hope to the whole world which is waiting eagerly on its tiptoes for the completion of our adoption. We may think we are waiting on the world tochange. It starts now
