Do people tell you that you’re boring?
Before being too quick to assume they are right (or wrong!), let’s use this as an opportunity to reflect.
- Does someone saying I’m boring make me boring?
- What does it mean to be boring?
- What makes someone interesting?
- Is it about getting out of the house more, having hobbies, doing fun and interesting things, meeting new people, learning a new skill?
The key to being interesting is ENTHUSIASM.
- When you care enough about something, you will have something to say.
- Recognize when you’re in the wrong circles or conversations.
- You may feel bored and tune out of discussions because you’re not interested in what they’re talking about.
- Look for ways to tune in to discussions where you can make a contribution by listening, noticing, and remembering - all ways we activate our introvert strengths.
- Look for groups where your kindred spirits are more likely to gather.
- Remember that you are responsible for the energy you bring.
- Bring curiosity, bring fascination, bring a spirit of service.
