Description

In this episode of "Help Me, Rhonda!," clinical psychologist Dr. Rhonda Karg discusses "overworking," or the effects of working excessive hours at a stressful "pressure cooker" job.  The symptoms of overworking include insomnia or poor sleep patterns, feeling distracted by every task, a weakened immune system, lack of energy for simple tasks, a disregard for the importance of sleep, mood swings, negative self-talk, and difficulties striking a work-life balance. Dr. Karg teaches the audience how to establish "the upper limit of sanity" wherein after you work a certain number of hours a week your health, happiness, relationships, and home suffer. She also suggests several ways to preserve time for self-care and teaches listeners how to ensure you make your health and well-being your top priority.
