Our very special guest this week joined us from the golf course where she was finishing up a two-man best ball event with her grandfather, and was so kind enough to call in and walk us through her last few holes. It’s the incomparable, 2-time Canadian Long-Drive Champion from Tsuut’ina Nation, Irene Crowchild! Irene began her golf journey at a young age, working at “Buffalo Run Golf Course” through her teenage years. It wasn’t until she was 16 years old that she swung for the first time, and the skill surprisingly didn’t come easily for this natural athlete. Upon heading back to the Shop Professional, she learned she’d been golfing the “wrong way” with right-handed clubs. Irene grabbed some lefties instead, headed back to the range, and the rest is history. Irene was so open and honest and optimistic about her future in golf, it was honestly even better than we expected.
