This week we explore a new cool study with Dr. Jenn Ballard | AGFC State Wildlife Veterinarian | Assistant Chief of Wildlife Research and Brett Leach | AGFC State Waterfowl Coordinator.
They have teamed up with the Missouri Department of Conservation, Five Oaks Ag Research and Education Center, UAM College of Forestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources, and many others on a new study comparing different tracking devices for mallard ducks. The study will document how ducks use local habitats and migratory routes as well as examining which tracking methods provide the best data and are least impactful to duck behavior.
