There is no other person in history whose life details were foretold more than Jesus.  From birth to death, the Father, through the Holy Spirit, gave the prophets of old foreknowledge to write it down.  Every one of them were fulfilled.  With that context, there are two main points of focus for us today.

First is that we solidify and encourage our belief in Jesus Christ as the chosen One, the Messiah.  For many, He was just a prophet, or a good teacher.  But we can know Him as more than that.  Like Peter in Matthew 16 we can say “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”  Christ is from the Greek word for anointed One.  Messiah is Hebrew for the same thing.  Jesus Christ means Jesus the Messiah.

The second focus point for today is our title:  Find yourself in the Word.

When you are reading and a verse stands out, mark it.  If it says “you” take it for you.  If it says “me” make you the me.  Not every verse—the ones that God gives to you.  He’ll do it in quiet times, He’ll do it as an answer to prayer.  And He’ll do it as you read.

God has your life planned out.  He has created you for righteous works.  You are God’s poem (Eph 2:10).  Our mission in life is to fulfill the words of God’s poem for our lives.  You and I aren’t called to save the world like our Savior; you and I aren’t the first to bring the gospel to the Gentiles like Paul.

We are called to be a light.  We are called to keep the faith until the end.  Keep faith alive. That alone will keep us busy for the rest of our lives.
