Peter commands us to dress ourselves in humility. Put it on as you do your shirts, pants, dresses. The humble get the help.
1 Peter 5
5 In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for
“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.
6 So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. 7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Proverb 3:34
The Lord mocks the mockers
but is gracious to the humble.
The Lord opposes—resists—the proud. You know you are not going to increase with the Lord opposing you. Now the enemy can give you more things temporarily to look like the proud are getting away with increase. But it never lasts and when it goes, it is gone for good. When God gives increase, it is eternal, it is peaceful.
