We know we should pay attention when the Holy Spirit, through the writers of the Scriptures, tells us to not be ignorant.  Multiple times throughout the New Testament especially, we are warned to know something of importance:  

• 2 Peter 3:8 - But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
• Romans 11:25 - For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits;
• 1 Corinthians 12:1 - Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

Finally, our context verse today in light of the series we are on “Be Not Deceived” - 2 Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

We should not be ignorant of how the enemy works.  If we are lacking knowledge, then it is time to learn.  In fact, the Lord commands us to study to show ourselves, that includes knowing how the enemy works so that we can use our God-given authority against him in the right place at the right time.
