Description

Do you want to feel a deeper connection to your business and brand? Do you ever find yourself uncertain of the 'why' behind your business? Developing a purpose-driven brand is the first step to creating a solid foundation on which to build your business.

How do you uncover your brand's purpose, and why is it so important? Everything about your brand should be built on your brand's purpose. Today, we'll review how you can define this for your brand.

First, let's talk about what it isn't. Your purpose is not to make income (that's a result). Your purpose is not the combination of your logo, colors or services.
So, what is your brand's purpose? Your brand's purpose is your True North Star. It will keep you on the right path when things get hectic. It should be deeply anchored into your core values and beliefs.

The first step to uncovering your brand's purpose is to find your why. What is your calling? Who are you and what are you meant to do? My purpose is to link arms with fellow entrepreneurs that at times feel they have no one else to turn to. This fuels all of my client interactions, not the task at hand.

How do you determine this? By asking yourself these five questions...

  1. Why did you start your business in the first place?
  2. When I first started thinking about my business, what change did I want to bring to the world?
  3. Thinking of my target market, what change do my customers want to see?
  4. What strengths am I bringing to the table that make me unique?
  5. What would I like my audience to know me for?

Branding is SO much deeper than your logo and your graphics. If you'd like to carry on this conversation deeper, send me a message  on Instagram or Facebook and I'd love to talk about it!
