Description

On August 7, Jeff McLain explored James 5:7-9 and how we might grow our capacity for patience in the moments that we suffer through a pressure, pain, or problem in our life that feels unresolved.

Patience doesn't come easy for many of us. It wasn't any different for the early church as they wrestled to remain faithful in some fearful and challenging times. James, the brother of Jesus, writes an encouragement to these early followers of Jesus who were dispersed and suffering throughout the region. He writes them an encouragement that calls them to be patient, to establish themselves in the middle of their suffering, and to train themselves to experience the transformative nature of God's mercy and compassion.
