What gives us courage to stand up for ourselves, face someone who intimidates us, or look at scarry political outcomes? Sometimes fear is worse when it is contained in our mind than when it comes to pass and we deal with whatever it is.

I have a friend, Jennie Spencer, who has leukemia. She knows her time is probably short and yet with that knowledge, she has learned to dance with her impending death. Jennie told me that through it all she has grown in a confidence she never had before. During this time, she has used her love of the arts to do wonderful things, from writing a book, painting works of art, and composing fabulous poetry. She lives JOY in her journey. It seems she uses her joy and love of art to spin a blanket of courage during this time. It's like she has a sling in her pocket...

Thank you, Jennie, for showing us that courage comes when we need it.

Thanks for listening,
