Thomas Friedman, author of The World is Flat, spoke once of going to his favorite pancake house in Minneapolis, MN where he grew up. He was meeting with another journalist at the time and when the server came he engaged in a conversation about her work and how she liked it (or something like that). Well, when she returned with their orders, she bent down to whisper to Thomas Friedman, “I gave you extra fruit.” He reflected on how the act of kindness to a stranger can mean so much, which she showed by wanting to let him know her appreciation with the “extra fruit.”
Today’s podcast is a reminder again that whenever possible, we should be kind…and it is almost always possible.
Thanks for listening.
