Recently at a conference, I sat in a couple of sessions on the Enneagram, which is a sort of personality inventory that helps people describe and understand their core behaviors and motivations. It talks about the healthy parts and the stressed or unhealthy parts in our personalities. The important thing is self-awareness, such an essential part of living fulfilled. 

When we are not willing or brave enough to explore the strengths and weaknesses of our personality, we can be overwhelmed, angry, or triggered by what happens in our daily lives. When we do take the time and courage to face ourselves and our reactions, then we can control our responses which can lead to calmness and grace. Initial negative reactions are normal and should be accepted (something I am good about accepting in other people, but not always of myself...self-disclosure), but the more we know ourselves, the more able we are to take control of our responses...and that helps us find something good in whatever happens to us.
