My dad always told me the story about a man who lived in the town of Reeve, Wisconsin, close to the town where my dad grew up. He said that no one really knew the man because they couldn't understand him and he dressed funny and consequently kept to himself, living in a house on the edge of that town. No one reached out to him or got to know him because he seemed strange to them and so they assumed he wanted to keep his distance.

After the man died, the town discovered he was displaced from Poland after WWII and ended up living in that small Wisconsin town. They also discovered that before the war, he had been a concert violinist.

What would have happened in his life if someone would have been willing to put forth effort to reach past the strangeness, try to communicate, and learn to know this man who had lived a different life before. We can only imagine.

Do you know someone who needs to be known? Do you have someone you wished you would have been brave enough to reach out to?

Have courage.

Thanks for listening!
