Some months ago, I shared with you the wonderful experience I had when I was asked by a parent from the school where I served as principal to meet with some young women. She asked me to talk about life as a woman, mom, wife, career person, using my stories and experiences to encourage them in their stage of life. It was a wonderful evening of sharing. However, one of my favorite things about the event was seeing the invitation each of the women received. It was entitled, "The Elder Listening Session." I was the ELDER! I LOVED it. But it also made me realize the responsibility I had at this age to pass on what I've learned from others in the same way throughout my life.
I wouldn't have the trove of stories and insights to share without having the sage elders guiding me as I grew through adulthood. If you are younger, who are the elders in your world? If you are older, who are the young people in your world? We need each other!!
